How to Draw a Spring Tree Step by Step

Step 1 Draw the leaves of the tree

We're going to draw a tree in spring, and one of the best ways to express it is to add some young leaves to the tree.

You can first observe the shape of the leaves. They are roughly oval in shape, and on each leaf its midrib is drawn.

Draw one leaf first and another at the bottom of it. The angle between them is approximately a right angle.

Draw a line from the bottom of the first leaf towards the bottom left. Then draw a leaf on either side of the bottom of this line.

Step 2 Draw the branches of this tree

Next we're going to draw the top two branches of this spring tree. Draw the one on the left first.

We drew two leaves at the bottom of that curve in the previous step. Now draw polylines down the middle of the two leaves to get a branch.

Draw another branch to the right of this branch. There is also a bifurcation at the end of it.

Don't draw the two branches too thick. Because generally for a tree, the further down you go, the thicker the branches will be.

Step 3 Draw leaves on a branch

In the previous step we drew two branches for this spring tree. Since the branch on the left already has leaves, we just need to add leaves to the branch on the right.

Here all the leaves are above this branch. Of course, this is not necessary, in the next steps we will also add leaves under the branches.

Start by drawing a vertical line to the left of that bifurcation. Then draw three different sized leaves on the top and sides of this line.

Draw a sloping curve on that bifurcation. Then draw two leaves on the top and side of it.

Step 4 Draw a branch of the tree

In the fourth step of this how to draw a spring tree tutorial, we're going to draw one more branch. This branch is on the left side of the trunk.

At the bottom of the first drawn branch, draw a branch on the left. This branch also has a bifurcation.

We will draw this branch longer and thicker as well.

When drawing these branches, you need to grasp one of their characteristics - thicker the closer you get to the trunk, and thinner further away from the trunk.

Step 5 Draw leaves on a branch

Next, we're going to add some leaves to that branch that we drew in the previous step. As you may have noticed, we are going to add leaves to each branch.

We start by drawing two leaves on the bifurcation of this branch. The upper leaf should be drawn bigger.

Draw a curved line from top to bottom to the bottom of that big leaf. Then add four more leaves to the top and sides of this curve.

If everything has gone well so far, great, and the next steps won't be too hard for you!

Step 6 Draw one side of the tree

Let's look at the rightmost branch we drew in step 2. Draw a long straight line from its bottom towards the bottom right to get the right edge of the tree trunk.

Make a gap on this line and draw a branch on the right side of the tree.

The position of this branch is the lowest, and it is not very thick. Finally draw three small leaves on this branch.

Step 7 Draw the trunk of the tree

Draw a straight line from the bottom of the leftmost branch toward the bottom left. This is the left edge of the trunk of this tree.

Then connect the bottom ends of the left and right edges of the trunk with a zig-zag line to get the trunk of this spring tree.

Draw two falling leaves on the left side of this tree. Draw a falling leaf on the right.

We won't be content with a spring tree like this that doesn't look realistic enough. So in the next step we will also add details on the trunk.

Step 8 Make details on the trunk

On two of the branches, draw lines along the edges. Don't make these lines too smooth.

Also draw a line along the right edge of the trunk. Then add two spirals to the trunk.

Near the bottom of this tree, draw three arcs on the left edge of the trunk.

So far we have completed this spring tree. You can also try adding beautiful flowers to this tree.

Step 9 Color this spring tree

If there is one color to define spring, it must be green. Vibrant green is a perfect match for spring when everything is revived. Green is a very special color, it is neither cool nor warm, it just makes people feel fresh and comfortable. It is the most beautiful color that nature has given us!
